You can restore a specific backup job or multiple backup jobs at a time directly to a location on a disk using CommCell console without the intervention of the Oracle RAC. This is useful for restoring multiplexed data on the same media. These restores are also useful for troubleshooting network errors. The data from different backup jobs are passed back to the client so that all of the interleaved backup jobs can be restored in parallel. You can restore the data associated with a specific backup job (s) such as full, incremental, archive log, in parallel streams. You can also submit multiple restore jobs from full and incremental backups.
Use the following steps to restore a backup piece on a disk using CommCell console :

From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers > client > Oracle RAC.

Right-click the instance, point to All Tasks and then click Restore to Disk.

On the Restore to Disk dialog box, click OK.

Select the backup job to restore to a disk. Right-click the job and select Restore to Disk.
Select multiple backup jobs at a time and restore them to disk.

In the Restore Options for All Selected Items dialog box, set up the client:

From the Destination Client list, select the client.

In the Destination path box specify where the backup pieces are restored to.

To use a different account other than the one configured for the Oracle instance, select the Impersonate User check box and enter the credentials.
Note: The user must have necessary privileges (write) on the location for the restored data.

Click OK to close the Restore Options for All Selected Items dialog box.
