Adding a Windows File Server

To archive data on a Windows file server, add the file server.

Start the Configuration Wizard

From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Archiving.

The File servers page appears.
In the upper-right corner of the page, click Add server.

The Configure Archive Server wizard appears.
From the list of server types, select File server and click Next.

The Add file server page appears.
In the Name box, enter a name for the server.

Windows – File System and Driver for File archiver packages are required.
To add a new server, click Add new server.
In the Host name box, enter the fully qualified name of the UNIX file server.
In the User name box, enter the windows user name.
In the Password box, enter the password.
In the Confirm password box, enter the password again.
From the OS Type list, select Windows.
Optional: Enter the path to the instalation location.
To restart the file server, move the Reboot if required toggle key to the right.
To install the driver to recall stubs later, move the Install Driver for File Archiver toggle key to the right.
Click Next.

The Plan page of the configuration wizard appears.

Add a new archive plan and then, provide information about storage, retention, and archive schedules.

If you have created an archive plan already, select the plan from the list.
Click Next.

The Archive Content page of the configuration wizard appears.

In the Archive content box, click Add > Custom Path and enter the path to a local drive on the computer.
Select Use cell level policy to enable or disable the global exclusions for the default subclient depending on whether the Use global exclusions on all subclients option is enabled for the environment.
Click Add.
