Creating a Data Domain Boost Storage

Create a Data Domain Boost Storage unit using the Data Domain Console. For the detailed procedure, see Dell EMC® Data Domain® documentation.

Before You Begin

The following software versions are supported:

  • Commvault 11.32.25 and higher

  • Data Domain 7.6 and higher

  • Microsoft Visual C++ 2013

    Install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable Package on any Windows MediaAgents or Windows clients with Storage Accelerator that will be used with the Data Domain.

Port requirements:

When using Data Domain Boost library types, the Dell DD Boost SDK will control the communications with the Data Domain storage device. Any system that reads or writes data to the Data Domain storage device will typically need ports 111 and 2049 open between them. For more details, see the Dell Data Domain Security Configuration Guide and Dell Data Domain Administration Guides.
