Enabling Backups for Global Objects in Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL Databases

You can back up global objects (such as roles) in a PostgreSQL database. To back up global objects, the Commvault software uses the pg_dumpall utility with -c, -g, --no-role-passwords, and -s options.

Before You Begin

The global objects dump is supported only for Indexing Version 2 clients. For PostgreSQL agents, Indexing Version 2 is enabled by default for newly installed clients in Feature Release 11.30 and more recent versions.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.
    The Instances page appears.

  2. Click the instance.
    The instance page appears.

  3. In the DumpBasedBackupSet section, click Edit.
The Edit PostgreSQL backupset dialog box appears.
