Enabling Personal Chat Backups for an Existing Azure App

You can configure backups for Teams personal chats using an existing Azure app. Microsoft requires an additional charge for every backup of personal chats because the backup operation requires the use of paid Microsoft export APIs. Personal chat backups are disabled by default.

Before You Begin

Verify that on the Configuration tab under Teams connections settings, in the Export API access column, at least one Azure app displays Yes. For instructions about enabling Export APIs for an Azure app, see Enabling Paid Export APIs for an Existing Azure App.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Office 365.

The Office 365 Overview page appears.

  2. On the Apps tab, click the app.

The Overview page of the app appears.

  3. On the Configuration tab, in the Chat backup settings section, beside User chat, click Edit edit pencil button gray.

  4. From the list, select Paid Export APIs, and then click Submit.

The Enabled Paid Export APIs dialog box appears.

  5. At the bottom of the dialog box, select the confirmation check boxes, and then click Enable.
