Excluded Severs in the SLA Report

The Excluded Servers report provides information about servers that are not included in the SLA report.

Excluded Servers Chart

The Excluded Servers chart displays the number of servers that are excluded from SLA, are an excluded server type, have backup activity disabled, that are deconfigured, that have been offline for a long time, that have a Do-Not-Backup VM, or were recently installed.

To view this report, in the SLA Server Summary chart, click Note: N entities are excluded from SLA.

Excluded Entities Table

The Excluded Servers table lists all of the servers that are not included in the SLA report.

Column

Description

Server

The server that is excluded from the SLA calculation.

To view the Servers page on the Command Center click a server.

Client Group

The server groups (client groups) that the server belongs to. If the server does not belong to a server group, then the cell appears blank.

Agent

The Commvault software installed on the server to back up applications or other types of third-party software, such as Windows File System.

Instance

The database instance associated with the agent software. If there is no instance, then the cell appears blank.

Backup Set

A group of subclients used as a container for multiple drives or folders. If there is no backup set, then the cell appears blank.

Subclient

The logical container that represents data on the server, such as drives or folders. If there is no subclient, then the cell appears blank.

Plan

The backup plan associated with the server or VM.

Category

The reason that the server is not included in the SLA report. Reasons can include the following:

  • Exclude from SLA Property: The server is purposely excluded from the SLA calculation through an option in the CommCell Console.

  • Excluded Server Type: The server is automatically excluded because of another reason, for example if it is a VM protected by both an installed agent a Virtual Server Agent. The following entities were excluded:

    • Analytics Server

    • Case Manager Pseudo Client

    • CommServe Failover Client

    • Content Index Server

    • Edge Drive Pseudo Client

    • Pseudo Commserve Client

    • Reference Copy Client

    • User Centric Client

  • Backup Activity Disabled: Backup jobs are disabled on the server.

  • Customer action pending: The servers excluded from SLA by the customer.

    You can also automatically classify the clients and subclients from SLA as customer action pending based on the following criteria:

    • The clients that failed the last job with the Unable to reach the client error message in the last 24 hours.

    • The subclients that failed the last job with the Trial Limit for the total data protection has reached message.

    • Subclients with no storage policy association.

    To use the auto classification feature, enable the AutoClassifyTenantActionPending additional setting.

  • Service provider action pending: The server excluded from SLA by the MSP.

  • Recently Installed: The servers which are recently installed.

  • Long Time Offline: The server or laptop has been offline and has not communicated with the CommServe sever for a long time.

  • Do Not Backup VM: The subclient or backup set has been configured to not back up some virtual machines through an option in the CommCell Console.

  • Hibernation Mode On: When the laptop is online only for less than 10 minutes.

Last Protected Time

The date and time when the server was last backed up.

Exclusion Reason

If the server was manually excluded from the SLA calculation and the user who excluded the server wrote a note in the Reason for exclusion box, the message appears in this cell.

Last Online Time

The date and time when the server was last online.

Last Offline Time

The date and time when the server last went offline.

Is Online

An indication of whether the server is currently online (Yes) or currently offline (No).

Installed Time

The date and time when the server was installed with Commvault software.

SLA Days

The number of SLA days configured for the server.

Client Type

The type of client, such as Server.

Actions

If you can add the server to the SLA calculation, the action button appears in this cell. To add the server to the SLA calculation, select Include in SLA.
