Installation Roles and Packages

When you install Commvault, you have a choice of roles and packages to install.

Note

The ICP snap engines require IntelliSnap package. The software automatically installs the package when required.

The following tables show the available roles and packages.

Windows Installations

Installation Task: Create a New CommCell

Note

In addition to the roles presented on this installation screen, you will also see an option for CommServe failover node. Select this option if you want to perform the installation as a CommServe server failover node.

Third Party Packages

VcRedist

Starting in Commvault Platform Release 2024 (11.34), the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2015-2022 is automatically installed.

For all agents, the VCRedist 2015-2022 binaries are installed in the Install_Directory\Base folder.

For the CommServe computer, Metrics Server, MongoDB, MySQL, Web Server, and Workflow Engine, VCRedist 2015-2022 is installed system-wide.
