Managing Oracle Database Clones

You can perform the following operations on a database clone.

  • Reset the clone expiration date. This option automatically renews the clone for the reservation period that you entered when you created the clone.

  • Extend the life of the clone. This option prompts you to enter a new date, and then updates the clone reservation period.

  • Delete the clone.

  • Create a new clone.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.

    The database overview page appears.

  2. On the Instance Clones tab, select the check boxes for the clones you want to manage, and then select one of the following options:

    • To reset the expiration date of the clones, in the upper right of the page, click Extend, and then in the Extend clone expiration date dialog box click RESET.

    • To extend the life of the clones:

      1. In the upper right of the page, click Extend.

        The Extend clone expiration date dialog box appears.

      2. Select the new date when the clones will expire, and then click SAVE.

    • To delete the clones, in the upper right of the page, click Delete.

    • To create a new Oracle clone, in the upper right of the page, click Instant clone and select Oracle as the database type. For instructions on how to create an Oracle clone, see Cloning an Oracle Database.
