Restoring Kubernetes Application Manifests

You can use restore Kubernetes application manifests to a specific path on the access node. The YAML file is used to store or transfer application configurations between applications.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Kubernetes.

    The Overview page appears.

  2. On the Application groups tab, in the row for the application group that contains the application manifest, click the action button action_button, and then click Restore.

The Select restore type page appears.

  3. Click Application manifests.

    The Restore page appears.

  4. Click on the application name.

  5. Select the YAML file to restore.

  6. To select a specific backup copy to restore from, do the following:

By default, Commvault restores content from the first available, valid backup copy that it finds.

    1. In the upper-right corner of the page, click Settings.

      The Settings dialog box appears.

    2. From the MediaAgent list, select the access node that contains the backup copy.

    3. From the Source list, select the backup copy.

    4. Click Save.

  7. Click Restore.

The Restore options dialog box appears.

  8. From the Access node list, select the access node to perform the restore.

For optimal performance, select an access node that has low latency to the Kubernetes cluster and the backup copy.

    Important

Commvault restores the application manifests as the root user on a temporary Commvault worker pod. Don't enter credentials in the Impersonate user settings.

  9. From the Destination client list, select the destination client.

  10. For Destination Path, do the following:

    1. Click the Browse button.

You cannot enter a path by typing in the Destination Path box.

The Select a path dialog box appears.

    2. Select an existing folder or, to create a new folder, click the New folder button Add button.

    3. Click Save.

  11. Click Submit.
