Configuring a User for Amazon

You can use the sAmazonArray additional setting to override the default array name, AWS-DefaultUseIAMRoleArray, that is used to associate snapshots to the Amazon account through the IAM role assigned to EC2 instances.

Make sure that the IAM role has the permission to create Amazon EBS volume snapshots requirements. See How Commvault Uses AWS Permissions for Amazon EC2 Instance Protection.

You need this additional setting in the following cases:

  • For SP18 clients

  • For authentication with access key and secret key

From Feature Release 11.19, if an Amazon EC2 instance has the IAM role assigned, then you do not need to set the additional setting sAmazonArray in the Commvault software.

Procedure

  • To the client computer, add the additional setting as shown in the following table.
