To protect the Commvault install folders, we recommend using a Windows domain administrator account (which has active directory user management permissions) to install Commvault Software. After installation, ensure that the user with the domain administrator credentials installs the Commvault software, and is the only user who can access the Commvault software installation folders. All other users who can login to the Windows computer where Commvault is installed should not have access to the Commvault software installation folders. For more information about configuring the Windows user permissions, see the Microsoft Windows Admin Center documentation.
Additionally, we recommend using only the domain administrator account for managing the Commvault software. Do not share the credentials for the Windows domain administrator account with other users, unless required.
