You can use the SQL Edition Upgrade workflow to disable CommCell activities and create a disaster recovery backup. This helps when when reinstalling Commvault as part of a MS SQL Server upgrade.
Note
The SQL Edition Upgrade workflow does not upgrade Microsoft SQL Server. It only disables CommCell activities and creates a disaster recovery backup.
Before You Begin

Verify that the Workflow Engine is installed. For more information, see Installing the Workflow Engine.

Download the SQL Edition Upgrade workflow from the Commvault Store.
Procedure

From the CommCell Browser, go to Workflows and right-click SQL Edition Upgrade, point to All Tasks, and then click Execute.
The SQL Edition Upgrade Options dialog box appears.

From the Run workflow on list, select the Workflow Engine that you want to use to perform the workflow.

Enter an email address.
Once the workflow completes, it will send an email with consolidated information related to the CommCell and DR backup.

Click OK.
The SQL Edition Upgrade dialog box appears.

Review the information and then click OK.
The Media kit information dialog box appears.

Review the information and then click OK.
You will receive a confirmation message at the email address you entered in Step 3, above.
