Verify that your environment meets the system requirements for UNIX and Macintosh file system archiving configured with the post-archiving rule to stub files after archiving. If post-archiving delete is selected, the following system requirements are not applicable. It is supported on all platforms.
Operating System
Important
Use the most recent version of the operating system that is listed. The Commvault software fully supports the most recent version of an operating system, until the vendor ends support. More recent versions of the Commvault software might not install on operating systems that are not supported by the vendor anymore. For information about the support lifecycle of an operating system, contact the vendor.

Data protection on Logical Partitioning (LPAR) and Workload Partitioning (WPAR) is supported.

Solaris
Important
-
On Solaris computers, the operating system must be installed with at least the user level software option selected.
-
Install the file archiver agent on the global zone. You cannot install the file archiver agent on a non-global zone. However, you can use the global instance of the file archiver agent to archive data on a non-global zone. For a comprehensive list of supported components, see UNIX Virtualization.

Note
macOS High Sierra v10.13 or higher require user approval before loading the kernel extension that enables the Commvault driver software for archiving. The first time that Commvault software attempts to start the driver for archiving, the system console displays the System Extension Blocked notification.
To load the Commvault driver, on the Apple menu or on the dock, go to System Preferences > Security and Privacy and click Allow next to System software from developer "Commvault" was blocked from loading. Restart Commvault services.
