Use this dialog box to establish the options for validating drives.
Note
For Virtual Tape Libraries (VTL) use the TapeToolGui tool to run performance related tests, instead of using the Validate Drive option.
MediaAgent
Specifies the MediaAgent that must be used to perform the validation. To change the MediaAgent, click one from the list.
Drive Pool
Specifies the drive pool that must be used to perform the validation. To change the drive pool, click one from the list.
Media
Specifies the media that must be used to perform the validation. To change the media, click one from the list. All the media available in the library are listed.
Exception: Aged media is not displayed in the Media list.
Volume Block Size
Specifies the media bock size that must be used by the validation operation to write data on the media. To change the block size, click one from the list.
Chunk Size
Specifies the chunk size that must be used by the validation operation to create a block. Use the space to change the chunk size.
Note that the MediaAgent creates different physical data blocks for organizing the backup data on the media. Chunk size specifies the maximum amount of data in these data blocks.
Amount to Write

Write chunks till End of Media
Specifies that the validation operation must write chunks to the end of the volume.

Write specific number of chunks
Specifies that the validation operation must write only the specified number of chunks. Use the space to specify the total number of chunks that must be written.
