Setting the Frequency for Automatic Discovery of Databases

If you enabled automatic instance discovery, databases are discovered every 24 hours by default. You can change the frequency with which the Commvault software detects new databases.

Procedure

1. From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers.

2. Right-click the Client, and click Properties.

3. On the Client Properties dialog box, click Advanced.

4. On the Additional Settings tab of the Client Properties dialog box click Add.

   1. In the Additional Settings dialog box, in the Name box, type nDBDISCOVERYINTERVAL.

   2. In the Category box, select the database agent (for example, OracleAgent).

   3. In the Type box, select String.

   4. In the Value box, type the time interval in hours in which databases are detected.

      For example, to discover databases every two hours, type 2.

   5. Click OK to close the Add Additional Settings dialog box.

5. Click OK to close the Client Computer Properties dialog box.
