Amazon RDS

You can use the Commvault software to back up and restore Amazon RDS instances across multiple accounts and regions.

You can back up and restore Amazon RDS instances for the following database engines using export-based or snapshot-based protection:

*For export-based back up method, Aurora MySQL and Aurora PostgreSQL support includes protection for Amazon Aurora Serverless v1 configurations. For snapshot-based back up method, it includes protection for Amazon Aurora Serverless v1 and v2 configurations.

Note

Commvault supports restoring from serverless v2 to serverless v2 type cluster only. Change of instance class for serverless v2 clusters is not allowed.
Backup copy for Amazon RDS protection using AWS native snapshots is not supported. However, you can configure backup copies to be made if you use export-based backups.
