Changing the Cloud CommCell Role Manager for Your Commvault ID

If the only user that is listed as a Cloud CommCell role manager for a CommCell environment leaves the organization, you can use the Cloud Administrator Promotion Request form to request that you be granted administrator privileges. It takes at least three days to complete this process—five days if a weekend is included. Every user in the company group who has the Cloud CommCell role manager will receive an email asking if they should continue to actively maintain this role. For a total of three days, the email will be repeated daily, offering the Admin user an opportunity to respond and decide whether to keep or give up their position. The requesting user will automatically be elevated and current Admin users will be removed from the company group if no response is received after these three tries.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the Cloud Service Portal.

  2. In the top-right area of the page, click the applications menu cloud portal applications menu, and then select Tools.

    The Tools page appears.

  3. At the top-left area of the page, click the Commvault logo.

    The My Applications page appears.

  4. Click Forms.

    The Forms page appears.

  5. Click Cloud Administrator Promotion Request.

    The Cloud Administrator Promotion Request form dialog box appears.

  6. Click OK.

    A dialog box appears to verify that there is no existing cloud company administrator available at your company.

  7. Click Continue.

    When the request is approved, you receive an acknowledgment email.
