Configuring Email Alerts for Sensitive Entities in a Sensitive Data Governance Project

Updated

Stay informed about the sensitivity of data in your environment with real-time email alerts. After a data source scan, the Commvault software notifies selected recipients with details, including the CommCell name, project name, and the number of sensitive entities detected. The software identifies these entities based on sensitivity level configured in the Entity Manager. For information on configuring entities, see Configuring Entities in Entity Manager.

To receive an email, you must configure the sensitive entity alert in the Sensitive Data Governance project details page.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Data Insights.

    The Data Insights page appears.

  2. Under Risk Analysis, click Sensitive data governance.

The Sensitive data governance page appears.

  3. In the Projects table, click the project name.

The Overview tab of the project dashboard appears.

  4. On the Configuration tab, on the Security tile, click Add next to Sensitive entity alert.

    The Add alert window appears.

  5. Do the following:

    • In the To field, specify the email addresses of the recipients to whom an alert must be sent.

    • From the Sensitivity level list, select the sensitivity level of entities. The supported values are Moderate, High and Critical.

      Note

      • If you select Moderate to receive alerts, then the Commvault software includes the number of identified Moderate, High and Critical entities in the email notification.
