You can create a HyperScale X storage pool manually.
Note
- When you use a stand-alone web server, the storage pool is not created automatically during HyperScale X installation. In such cases, you must create the storage pool manually from the Command Center.
- Compliance lock is a security control that provides protection from destructive tasks such as deleting backups, storage, apps, servers, and backup destination copies, and reducing retention for storage vendors. Compliance lock provides data security at the software level. The compliance lock is enabled by default, and all associated backup destination copies are locked and protected.
Before You Begin
-
Make sure the nodes are set up as described in Setting Up the Network.
-
You can use only one instance of the MediaAgent to configure the HyperScale Storage Pool, if multiple instances of the MediaAgent software is installed on a node. (For information about multi-instance installations, see Multi-Instance Installations.) For example if you have MA1 installed in instance 1 and MA2 installed in instance 2, you can create only one HyperScale Storage Pool using either MA1 or MA2. Do not use the other MediaAgent instance on the node to configure another HyperScale Storage Pool.
-
Download and install the latest Hot Fix Package associated with the Service Pack before creating the HyperScale Storage Pool. For more information about the latest Hot Fix Package, see Service Packs.
