You can create a SQL instant clone from an IntelliSnap backup, Application-Aware backup or a block-level full backup.
Procedure

From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.
The Overview page appears.

On the Databases tab, select the database that you want to restore.
The database page appears.

Under Recovery points, determine the backup that you want to clone. Select a date that contains a backup, and then select the restore time.
Dates that are highlighted indicate that a backup exists for that day.
Tip
You can also select a specific time of the backup for a point-in-time restore.

Click Clone.
The Add SQL server instant clone dialog box appears.

From the Destination server list, select the SQL Server client where the software creates the clone.

From the Instance name list, select the SQL instance where the software creates the clone.

To change the clone database name, in the Target database name box, type the name of the clone database.

From the Recover to type list, select Most recent backup or Point in time.

Under Clone options, do the following:

For Delete clone after, enter the number of days and hours after which the software will delete the clone environment.

To have the software clean up any existing clone on the destination that has the same database name, regardless of the period after which the clone will be deleted, move the Unconditionally overwrite existing database or files toggle key to the right.

To apply log backups, move the Apply log backups toggle key to the right.

Under Advanced options, to use an array that does not have cloning capability, then from the Access node list, select the access node to mount cloned snapshots.

Click Submit.
Results
The software creates a clone on the destination server.
