Downloading Software On Demand

You can use the Command Center to download Commvault platform release and maintenance release installation files to the CommServe server and remote caches on demand.

Before You Begin

To download the latest Platform Release software, install the following maintenance release version for the Commvault Platform Release on the existing CommServe server:

  • On Platform Release 2023E, install Maintenance Release 11.32.57 or higher
  • On Platform Release 2024, install Maintenance Release 11.34.29 or higher

Procedure

  1. To download the latest Platform Release software, you must submit a request to download the installation files for the latest Platform Release using the following steps.

    1. To request the latest installation files, click Request Latest Media Kit.

    2. In the Request Latest Media Kit page, enter the following details:

      • Name
      • Email
      • CommCell ID
      • Select a reason for the request.

    3. Click Send Request.

    You will receive an email notification when the request is complete.

  2. From the navigation pane, go to Manage > System > Maintenance.

    The Maintenance page appears.

  3. Click Check for updates and then click Download/copy software.

    The Download/copy software section appears, showing the current feature release, the latest available feature release, and the last job that was run.

  4. Click Run job Right arrow.

    The Download/copy software dialog box appears.

  5. Select Download software using Internet.

  6. In Download installation media, select the available feature release or maintenance release installation files that you want to download.

    In the Select Release list, the default monthly maintenance packs are shown. If you also want to show early release weekly maintenance packs in the list, move the Include custom releases toggle key to the right.

  7. In Operating system options, select the platform and operating system for the software you want to download.

  8. In Remote caches to sync, select the remote caches where you want to copy the downloaded packages to (in addition to downloading to the CommServe server).

  9. Click Download.
