In a CommCell environment, users who register their computers with the CommServe computer can protect and manage their client data. If you want to provide these services to multiple organizations, such as your customer companies, you must configure the CommServe computer as a service provider. The users who register with the service provider are called tenants.
When you configure the CommServe computer as a service provider, multiple organizations can share the CommCell environment, but a single administrative team monitors it.
In a multi-tenant CommCell environment, tenants see only their own computers. Tenants establish communications with the service provider through a proxy computer. The proxy computer handles communications between the service provider and the tenants.
