Getting Started with the Dell EMC VNX / CLARiiON Storage Array

To set up the Dell EMC VNX / CLARiiON storage array, review system requirements and supported agents, and then add the array in the Commvault software. Then you can modify the snapshot properties.

Procedure

  1. Verify that your environment meets the Systems Requirements.

  2. Before configuring the array on the Commvault software, configure the array in the array console. See Configuring EMC VNX / CLARiiON on the Array Console.

  3. Review IntelliSnap - EMC VNX / CLARiiON - Best Practices.

  4. In the Commvault software, Add and Configure the Dell EMC VNX / CLARiiON Storage Array.

  5. To customize the array to your environment, including the configuration of a Remote Snap MediaAgent, edit the Snap Configuration Properties of Dell EMC VNX / CLARiiON.

    The Dell EMC VNX / CLARiiON storage array is now ready to operate.

  6. Choose a Supported Agent to work in conjunction with the Dell EMC VNX / CLARiiON storage array.
