Hardware Guidelines for the Exchange Online Index Server

Verify that the Index Server for Exchange Online meets the hardware guidelines. The Index Server stores metadata, performs content indexing (if content indexing is configured), and provides browsing and searching of backed up Exchange Online messages.

For more information, see Installing Index Store Package and Port Requirements for Commvault.

With Content Indexing

If you use content indexing, follow these guidelines. The guidelines account for backup, cleanup, and content indexing. The entire message is content indexed. If you are using one Index Server for both Exchange backups and Exchange data sources in Sensitive Data Governance, size up to the larger specification.
