Manually Discovering PostgreSQL Instances

Updated

You can manually discover PostgreSQL instances on demand. By default, PostgreSQL instances are automatically discovered every 24 hours. Instances are also automatically discovered when the Communications Service (GxCVD) is restarted (for example, after a computer reboot).

When you discover instances, the newly discovered instances are assigned a plan as follows:

  • If the server is installed from the Command Center, then the newly discovered instances inherit the plan of the server.

  • If the server is not installed from the Command Center, then you must set a plan for the newly discovered instances.

Note

  • You cannot automatically discover PostgreSQL instances on Solaris and AIX.

  • The pg_config binary must be present in the PostgreSQL bin directory for the Auto Discover instance to work.

    The database Overview page appears.
