To verify that the NAS file server is set up correctly, perform a test backup and restore.
Back Up the File Server

From the navigation pane, go to Protect > File Servers.
The file servers Overview page appears.

On the File Servers tab, in the row for the file server, click the action button , and then click Back up.
The Backup dialog box appears.

From Backup options, select Full.

Select the subclient that you created.

Click Submit.
Restore the File Server

From the navigation pane, go to Protect > File Servers.
The file servers Overview page appears.

On the File Servers tab, in the row for the file server, click the action button , and then click Restore.
The Restore dialog box appears.

Select the subclient, and then click Select Content.
The Backup content page appears.

Select the content to restore, and then click Restore.
The Restore options dialog box appears.

From the Destination list, select the computer to restore the data to.

Choose the restore location.

To restore to the original backup location, select the Restore to original folder check box.

To restore to a new location, clear the Restore to original folder check box and then in the Destination Path box, type the full path to the destination folder.

Click Restore.
