You can put an access node (server) for a virtual (VSA) workload into maintenance mode so that it does not run backup, restore, or auxiliary copy operations. You can also disable maintenance mode on an access node so that it can perform operations. (Other servers cannot be put into maintenance mode, by the Commvault software or by users.)
When you put an access node into maintenance mode, if a job is already running on the access node, the job runs until it completes.
Even in maintenance mode, an access node can perform administrative tasks, such as drive cleaning, on attached devices.
