If you have been using the Search Engine for content indexing operations, then Commvault recommends that you upgrade existing clients to content index data using an Index Server. Commvault supports content indexing using Index Server for the following agents.

Exchange Mailbox Agent: If you are using the Exchange Mailbox (Classic) Agent, you can transition to the Exchange Mailbox Agent by importing your user mailboxes from the following classic agents. For more information, see Transitioning to the Exchange Mailbox Agent.
