Windows Domain users can access the 3DFS network shares over the SMB protocol. You must add the Linux MediaAgent that hosts the 3DFS server to the Windows Active Directory domain.
Commvault provides a workflow that simplifies the process of adding the Linux MediaAgent to the domain.
Before You Begin

If you have not done so, install the workflow engine.
For more information, see Installing the Workflow Engine.

Gather the following information:

The Linux MediaAgent client name
-
The Linux MediaAgent instance name
-
The Active Directory domain suffix that is appended to all hosts that have joined the domain

The NetBIOS name of the Active Directory.

The fully qualified name of the Active Directory domain controller
-
The Active Directory domain controller IP address
-
The credentials for one of the following users:

The Active Directory domain administrator user

An Active Directory user that has privileges to add a machine to the domain, or remove a machine from the domain

If the NTP service is not running, on the command line, type the following commands:
systemctl enable ntpd service ntpd start

Result
The Commvault software has performed the following operations:

Enabled the SMB interface to the 3DFS network shares.

Added the Linux MediaAgent client to the Windows domain.
