The Commvault Version 11 software is not supported on Windows Server 2000 computers. If you want to protect the file system data of a Windows Server 2000 computer, you must install the Commvault Version 9 software.
Important
The Windows File System Agent is the only V9 software supported on Windows Server 2000 computers. Other V9 agents, including driver-based agents, are not supported.
Before You Begin

Download the Media Kit for Windows 2000 Installation from the Cloud Services website.
Make sure to download the software to a location that is accessible by the Windows Server 2000 computer.

To enable the registration of a V9 client with a V11 CommCell environment, you must configure an additional setting on the V11 CommServe computer and on the Windows Server 2000 computer. For instructions, see Installing Clients with Deprecated Operating Systems or Applications.
Procedure

Log on to the Windows Server 2000 computer as an Administrator or as a member of the Administrator group.

From the media kit (also known as installation package), double-click Setup.exe.
Follow the instructions in the installation wizard and make sure to select the Windows File System Agent.
Result
You can perform backup and restore operations on the Windows Server 2000 client from your V11 CommCell environment.
