MediaAgent Installations

Complete the following tasks to install the MediaAgent in your environment:

1. Plan the installation.

   Review general guidelines to prepare your environment for the installation. For more information, see Planning the MediaAgent Installation.

2. Review the preinstallation checklist.

   Gather the information that you must provide during the installation. Based on the computer's operating system, review the following topics:

   • Preinstallation Checklist for the MediaAgent on Windows

   • Preinstallation Checklist for the MediaAgent on UNIX, Linux, and Macintosh

3. Install the software.

   Install the MediaAgent using either the CommCell Console, Command Center, or the installation package that was created from the Download Manager. For more information, see Installing the MediaAgent.

   To install from the Command Center, see Adding a MediaAgent.

4. Perform postinstallation tasks.

   Review the tasks that you must perform after the installation in Postinstallation Tasks for the MediaAgent.
