Restart the Deduplication Database MediaAgent

Updated

To install updates or maintenance purposes, you must restart the MediaAgent that hosts the deduplication database (DDB).

For MediaAgents that hosts the DDB, you have to ensure that all the deduplication transactions in the memory are completed before restarting the computer. Failure to follow the recommendations might result in the sealing of the DDB, which will increase the amount of storage space consumed in the primary disk library.

For DDB MediaAgent:

  • On Windows, you can restart the MediaAgent manually or delay the shutdown by using StopProc.vbs script.

  • On Linux, you can restart the MediaAgent manually.
