Restoring Amazon S3 Data to a File System

You can restore the Amazon S3 data to a folder that resides on one of your CommCell Console clients.

Before You Begin

  1. Create a subclient.

  2. Perform a backup on the subclient.

Prerequisites

When you use the access key and secret key for an AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) user, you must have appropriate permissions. For more information, see How Commvault Uses AWS Permissions to Protect Amazon EC2.

Procedure

  1. From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers > client > Cloud Apps > instance.

  2. Right-click the subclient, and then click Browse and Restore.

    The Browse and Restore Options dialog box appears.

  3. Click View Content.

  4. Select the data that you want to restore, and click Recover All Selected.

    The Restore Options dialog box appears.

  5. On the General tab, provide the destination information:

    1. Select the File System check box.

    2. From the Destination Client list, select the appropriate client.

    3. In the Destination Path box, type the full restore location path.

  6. On the Job Initiation tab, specify whether to run the restore now or if it will be scheduled.

    Note: If you selected Schedule, set up the schedule.

  7. Click OK.
