The following requirements are for the Virtual Server Agent with Huawei FusionCompute.
Supported FusionCompute Versions
-
FusionCompute 8.7.x, 8.6.x, 8.5.x, 8.1.x, 8.0.x, 6.5.x, 6.3.x
-
FusionCompute 8.0.x + FusionStorage 8.0.1.5 (VM storage provisioned on FusionStorage other than SAN/NAS storage). Huawei also packaged this combination as FusionCube 6.0.1 SPC100
-
FusionCompute 6.5.1 + FusionStorage 6.3 (VM storage provisioned on FusionStorage other than SAN/NAS storage). Huawei also packaged this combination as FusionCube 3.2.1
-
FusionCompute 6.3.1 + FusionStorage 6.2 SPC200 (VM storage provisioned on FusionStorage other than SAN/NAS storage). Huawei also packaged this combination as FusionCube 3.1.1 SPC100.
FusionStorage Support
You can deploy Commvault to protect FusionCompute workloads running as part of a hyper-converged solution on FusionStorage.
For more information, see Support for FusionStorage.
Proxies
The Virtual Server Agent can be deployed on a physical or virtual machine running Windows or Linux.
At least one proxy is needed.
Only machines that have the VSA installed can act as VSA proxies to perform backups and restores.
The following operating systems are supported for VSA proxies:
-
RHEL 6.x, 7, 7.5, 8
Note
For a machine that runs RHEL 8.x or 9.x, to install operating system packages that are required to enable automatic installation of Mono, register the machine with Red Hat.
-
Microsoft Windows Server 2022 Editions
-
Microsoft Windows Server 2019 Editions
-
Microsoft Windows Server 2016 Editions
Note
Microsoft ended mainstream support for all versions of Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2—including Hyper-V Server 2012 and Hyper-V Server 2012 R2, and Core Editions—on October 10, 2023.
Note
When using FusionStorage 6.2, RHEL 7.3 or above is recommended as the VSA proxy operating system.
For Linux proxies, disable automatic activation of volumes to avoid issues with HotAdd operations during backup and recovery. For more information, see Disabling Automatic Activation of Volumes for a Linux Proxy.
Storage
Storage infrastructure can include local disks, NFS, iSCSI, or Fibre Channel.
Port Requirements
When the FusionCompute environment includes a firewall, ensure that CVD port 8400 is configured to accept incoming traffic from Commvault.
Open port 7443 on the FusionCompute Virtual Resource Manager (VRM).
Open port 35001 on Compute Node Agent (CNA) hosts.
Hardware Requirements
For information about hardware requirements for the Virtual Server Agent, see Hardware Specifications for Virtual Server Agent.

Certain third-party software and service releases (together, "Releases") may not be supported by Commvault. You are solely responsible for ensuring Commvault’s products and services are compatible with any such Releases.
