Adding Google Cloud Platform

Add a snapshot storage entry for Google Cloud Platform (GCP) in the Arrays page.

Before You Begin

In the Google Cloud Portal, check that the VM instance properties display the correct API access scope for the VM. The Compute Engine Cloud API access scope must be Read Write.

Tip

To edit the API access scope, you must first stop the VM.

Start the Configuration Wizard

  1. From the navigation pane, click Manage > Infrastructure.

    The Infrastructure page appears.

  2. Click Arrays.

  3. On the Arrays page, click Add.

    The General page of the Add Snap Array configuration wizard appears.

General

  1. From the Snap vendor list, select Google Cloud Platform.

  2. In the Array name box, enter the management IP of the GCP.

  3. For credentials, do one of the following:

    • To use the saved credentials, move the Use saved credentials toggle key to the right, and then select credentials from the Saved credentials list.

    • To add service account deatails, do the following:

      1. To add the JSON file that contains the service account ID and password, click Choose a JSON file next to Service account key file, and then add the file.

      2. In the Service account ID, enter the google cloud account ID.

  4. Click Next.

    The Array Access Nodes page of the configuration wizard appears.

Array Access Nodes

Add an array access node if you want to use the secondary live snapshot for the backup copy operation or to add a MediaAgent to perform additional operations on the snapshot storage.

  1. From the Available MediaAgents list, select one or more access nodes and then click OK.

    • To select all the available MediaAgents as access nodes, click SELECT ALL.
  2. To disable pruning, move the Pruning toggle button of the respective access node to the left.

  3. To rearrange the selected access nodes, drag them upwards or downwards as required.

  4. Click NEXT.

    The Snap Configurations page of the configuration wizard appears.

Snap Configurations

  1. Configure Snapshot Configuration Properties according to your needs.

  2. Click SUBMIT.
