Create the secondary snapshot copy for the Open Replication feature for Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP.
Before You Begin
To create the vault/replica or the mirror copy, you must use a server plan.
If you have not yet done so, create a server plan with a snap primary copy. See Creating a Server Plan and a Primary Snap Copy.
With the fan-out configuration, you can create multiple vault copies or replica copies and multiple mirror copies, using the same server plan with a primary snapshot copy as the source copy.
Procedure

From the navigation pane, go to Manage > Plans.
The Plans page appears.

In the Plan name column, select the plan to add the vault/replica or the mirror copy.
The Overview page of the server plan appears.

Go to Backup destinations tab.

In the Backup destinations tile, click Add and then click Snap copy.
The Add snapshot copy dialog box appears.

In the Name box, type a name for the snapshot copy.

To enable NetApp snapmirror cloud, move the NetApp SnapMirror Cloud Target toggle key to the right. Enabling this option sets Vault/Replica as the only copy type.

Select one of the following:

For SnapVault and MirrorVault relationships, select Vault/Replica.

For SnapMirror and Version Flexible Mirror relationships, select Mirror. For mirror copies, the Retention Rules option does not appear because the retention rules of the mirror copy will be the same as of the source copy.

From the Storage list, select a storage.

From the Backups to copy list, select a backup job type.

From the Source list, select a primary snap copy to create a vault/replica or the mirror copy from.

To select a date from which you want to copy the backup types, do one of the following:

To copy the backup types from the initial backup date, select Protect from initial backup date.

To select a specific date, select Protect from a specific date and then set the Start time.

For the Retention rules, select either Retention period or Number of snap recovery points, and then add the rules.
Note
To set the snapshot copy as a spool copy, set the Retention period to 0 days.

To specify additional backups, such as weekly full backups, move the Extended Retention rules toggle key to the right, and then add rules.

To add mappings, in the Mappings field, click Add.
The Add Mappings dialog box appears.

From the Snapshot vendor list, select a snap vendor.
Based on the vendor selected, the Source Entity changes to Source Region, Source Array, or Source SVM.

From the Source Entity list, select an entity to create a mapping.
Based on the vendor selected, the Target Entity changes to Destination Region, Target Array, or Target SVM.

From the Target Entity list, select a target entity.

If you have added an array as a snap vendor, do the following:

To enable associating a subclient, move the Associate subclients toggle key to the right.

From the Subclients list, select a subclient to associate.

Click ADD.
-
Review the Mappings added, and then click SAVE.

Click SAVE.
