Getting Started with Qumulo File Storage

Verify that the access node meets the hardware specifications and the environment meets the system requirements, add the access node, complete the file server guided setup, and then perform a test backup and restore.

Procedure

1. Verify that your access node meets the hardware specifications to back up the CIFS shares and NFS exports.

2. Verify that the Qumulo cluster user has the minimum required permissions.

3. Verify the following system requirements:

   • Supported Qumulo Core Versions

     Qumulo Core Version 4.3.4, 5.2.x, and 5.3.4 or higher

   • Subclient Content

     The subclient content must be same or a descendant of the exported shares.

   • Host Access for NFS Shares

     To be able to mount the NFS shares, the IP/FQDN of the access nodes must be whitelisted in the Host Access Rules properties.

4. Add Qumulo File Storage.

5. Perform a test backup and restore.

   • Perform a backup.

   • Perform a restore.
