You can restore the entire backed up instance from a default subclient to either the same instance or a different instance on the source client. You can also restore the instance to a different destination server.

During a restore operation, data directory of the destination MySQL server is overwritten. The data is not staged at any location.

You cannot perform a point-in-time restore for a MySQL instance configured with MySQL Enterprise backup. Instead, for a MySQL Enterprise backup operation, you can browse and restore to its specific SBT image.

MySQL Enterprise backup version 4.1.2 or above is needed for partial restores and Restore to Disk operation.
