Troubleshooting for the Dell PowerStore Storage Array

Snap Mount fails on Linux or HyperScale MediaAgents

While running backup copy or restore, the snap mount operation may fail on Linux hosts if LUN ID assigned to Snapshot volume by the PowerStore REST API is greater than 255. This is a known restriction on Linux.

To fix this issue, modify configurations on the Linux MediaAgent. For more information, see the following pages on the Red Hat documentation website.

Alternatively, you can register the Linux MediaAgent as a Windows host on the PowerStore array. In this case, the PowerStore REST API will not assign LUN ID higher than 255.
