Control CPU Usage during backup

The sSDTHeadMaxCPUUsage additional setting is supported for all platforms (Windows/Unix). Before configuring the sSDTHeadMaxCPUUsage additional setting, verify that the "Optimize for concurrent LAN backups" check box is selected on the Control tab of the MediaAgent properties dialog box. Use the sSDTHeadMaxCPUUsage additional setting on the client computer to control the CPU Usage during backups. Set the value of the key as number of thread count or CPU Usage percentage. Range: For percentage CPU Usage: 1% to 100% For Thread Count: 1 to 50 Notes: 1. When using the sSDTHeadMaxCPUUsage additional setting, make sure that the 'Key Type' is set as STRING. 2. Depending on the value that you select for the additional setting, the number of threads that will use the CPU simultaneously are calculated. For example: On a 4 core machine, if you specify 25% usage, then SDT uses 1 core for high CPU modules. Similarly if you specify 50%, then SDT uses 2 cores. However, on a 2 core machine, even if you select 50% or 25%, the result is 1 thread usage that will use 1 core. Therefore, for a 2 core machine, even if you specify other values like 30%, 40% etc. they use only 1 thread.
