Configuring Permissions for Activate

To use Activate, you must associate the Data Controller security role with the infrastructure administrator and the data controller users. The Data Controller security role is a system-generated role that contains the permissions users need to have to perform Activate tasks.

Tenant users require additional security associations.

Before You Begin

To set permissions on a tenant user, create a role that includes the Run Command with System Account permission. For instructions about creating roles, see Managing Roles.

Procedure

  • Create a security association for a user or a tenant user:
    • To set permissions for a user, create an association between the Data Controller security role, the CommCell computer, and the infrastructure administrator and the data controller users.
    • To set permissions for a tenant user, create the following associations:
      1. Create an association between the Data Controller security role, the tenant users, and the Index Server server group.
      2. Create an association between the security role that includes the Run Command with System Account permission, the tenant users, and the Infrastructure server group.
      3. If you have an access node, create an association between the security role that includes the Run Command with System Account permission, the tenant users, and the access node.
