Live browse operation or live file recovery operation fails for a Linux VM
For a Linux guest VM, a live browse operation or a live file recovery operation might not be able to retrieve file and folder information.
The following JPR is displayed:
Browse failed due to error while mounting virtual machine : Unknown error , Error returned from FBR mount [Failed to logon to iSCSI target portal”]
This can occur when the File Recovery Enabler for Linux (FREL) that is used for the operation is not able to mount the backup snapshot because of security restrictions.
To resolve this issue, perform either of the following steps on the FREL machine that is used for the operation:
- Run the following command to open the iSCSI port on the FREL machine:
semanage port -a -t iscsi_port_t -p tcp iscsi_port_number
where iscsi_port_number is the iSCSI port number.
Run the following command to verify that the new port number is added in addition to the default port 3261:
semanage port –l
- Run the following command to disable enforcement of Security-Enhanced Linux (SELinux) on the FREL machine:
