Create New Content Indexing Policy - File Filter Tab

Applies to: Windows File System Agent and UNIX File System Agent

Use this dialog box to add or remove file types, file paths, and file size for content indexing.

Include File Types

Type the file type and click Add to include to the existing list of file types that must be content indexed. You can include any file types for content indexing.

By default, the following file types are included for content indexing:

bmp, csv, doc, docx, dot, eml, htm, html, jpg, jpeg, log, msg, ods, odt, odg, odp, pages, pdf, png, ppt, pptx, rtf, txt, xls, xlsx, xml, xmind

Exclude Paths

Type the specific path of the subclient content that you want to exclude from being content indexed. By default, the following paths are excluded from content indexing:

  • C:\Program Files
  • C:\Program Files (x86)
  • C:\Windows

Add

Click to manually add a file type or an exclude path.

Remove

Click to remove the file type or an exclude path.

Restore Defaults

Click to restore the default list of file types or exclude paths.

File Sizes

Enter the minimum and maximum size of files that must be content indexed.

Minimum document size

Enter the minimum size of files that must be content indexed. File sizes which are below the specified size are skipped.

Maximum document size

Enter the maximum size of files that must be content indexed. File sizes which are above the specified size are skipped.

The maximum size of a file that can be content indexed is 50 MB.
