Restoring One or More MySQL Databases

You can browse and restore backed up data for an entire database or for individual databases.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.

    The Instances page appears.

  2. Select the row of the instance that you want to restore, and then click Restore.

    The Backup content page appears.

  3. Restore all the databases or individual databases:
    • To restore all the databases, select the Database name check box, and then click Restore.
    • To restore individual databases, select the check boxes for the databases that you want to restore, and then click Restore.

    The Restore options dialog box appears.

  4. Follow the steps for the type of restore operation you want to run:
    • To run an in-place restore operation, complete the following steps:
      1. On the In place tab, select the Data check box and the Log check box.
      2. To enter the staging location where you want to restore the logs, in the Staging location box, click Browse.

        Note: For an in-place restore operation, the destination client and the destination instance are the same as the source client and the source instance.

    • To run an out-of-place restore operation, complete the following steps:
      1. On the Out of place tab, select the destination client and the destination instance.
      2. Select the Data check box and the Log check box.
      3. To enter the staging location where you want to restore the logs, in the Staging location box, click Browse.
    • To run a restore-to-disk operation, complete the following steps:
      1. On the Restore to disk tab, select the destination client.
      2. To enter the destination location where you want to restore the data, in the Destination folder box, click Browse.
  5. Click Submit.

Note:

  • Full instance IntelliSnap restore operation is performed even if you select partial databases to restore.
  • To restore databases that were backed up using XtraBackup utility, the staging location must have free space with size equal to the largest database on the server.
