Changing Snapshot Engine for Default Subclient
A subclient is a logical entity that contains the data that needs to be backed up.
When you add an instance, a default subclient is automatically created. The default subclient supports the native snapshot engine. By default, the snapshot engine is disabled, and the backup is treated as a native snap backup.
You can change the snapshot engine of the default subclient by completing the steps mentioned below.
Procedure
- From the navigation pane, click Protect > Big data.
The Instances page appears.
- Click an instance name.
The selected instance page appears.
- In the Subclients section, click default.
The default page appears.
- On the Configuration tab, in the Snapshot engine section, enable the snapshot engine.
For a list of available engines for your array, see Snapshot Engine.
Note: To select a native snapshot engine, verify that the LVM is configured on Splunk data paths.
- Click Settings.
The Edit snapshot engine dialog box appears.
- From the Engine list, select a snapshot engine, and then click Save.
Result
The snapshot engine of the default subclient is changed.
