Creating a Proxy Client for Azure Data Protection

Applies to: Azure database for MySQL, Azure database for PostgreSQL

After you install the UNIX File System Agent, configure the proxy client to facilitate the native database backup operations and restore operations.

  1. From the CommCell Browser, right-click Client Computers, and then click New Client.

The Add New Client dialog box appears.

  2. Click Unix.

The New Unix Client dialog box appears.

  3. In the Client Name box, type the name of the new UNIX client.
  4. In the Host Name box, type the full interface name of the computer.

    For example, mycomputer.mydomain.mycompany.com.

  5. Click Next >.
  6. Click Finish.

  • For the PostgreSQL agent, you can create both a UNIX proxy client and a Windows proxy client to protect Azure data.
  • For the MySQL agent, you can create only a UNIX proxy client to protect Azure data.
