Search for Email Messages by Using Advanced Search Options in Command Center
Advanced search options are available in Case Manager and Compliance Search in the Command Center. In addition to searching for email messages by using keywords and predefined filters, you can create advanced searches by adding a set of filters and then defining the relationship between the filters with AND and OR conditions.
Schedule Data Collection for Inventory Assets and Project Data Sources
You can schedule the data collection jobs that run for Sensitive Data Governance projects. Data collection jobs refresh the data associated with the projects. You can add a schedule to new or existing projects.
When you create inventory in Activate, a schedule is automatically added to the inventory. The data collection job for the inventory assets runs according to the schedule. You can update the default schedule to suit your business needs.
Perform a Multi-Streaming Backup Within a Content Path
For NDMP NetApp C-mode clients, you can allow multiple data readers to back up an individual content path on a subclient. The new multi-streaming support on individual content paths works in conjunction with the existing multi-streaming support for backing up multiple content paths.
Multi-streaming within individual content paths improves the backup performance of large volumes.
Optimized File System Backups
Optimized backups provide high resilience and faster performance when you back up large files, endpoints, or laptops that run on mobile networks that have frequent disruptions.
Large files are backed up using multiple streams, which increases the speed of backups.
After a network disruption, backup jobs resume exactly from the point at which they were interrupted.
Cloud Platform as Service - Back Up and Restore MySQL and PostgreSQL Databases Across Multiple Clouds in Command Center
Commvault software can back up and restore MySQL and PostgreSQL databases across Alibaba, Amazon, Azure Database, and Google Cloud Database. You can run your backup and restore operations using the Commvault intuitive user interface, REST API, and command line.
Back Up Support for Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2
You can back up the data stored in Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 using the Commvault Command Center console.
Make a backup copy of the Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 data by backing up the data to a local storage.
For optimal load sharing, distribute restores to the cloud using multiple streams.

Use Commvault Driver Modules on a Linux Computer with the UEFI Secure Boot Option Enabled
If the UEFI Secure Boot option is enabled on the Linux computer, Commvault keys must be enrolled in the MOK (Machine Owner Key) list that is stored in the UEFI NVRAM so that the kernel recognizes the signature of the Commvault driver modules.
Back Up and Restore Amazon DynamoDB Cloud Database
Commvault provides backup and restore capability for DynamoDB. You can schedule full and incremental backups of tables for long term retention and compliance needs. You can run your backup and restore operations using the Commvault intuitive user interface, REST API, and command line interface.
Amazon DynamoDB is a fully managed NoSQL database offered by Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Back up and Restore Amazon DocumentDB and Amazon Redshift Clusters
You can use Commvault software to protect Amazon DocumentDB and Amazon Redshift clusters across multiple accounts and regions. Commvault integrates with AWS native snapshots to protect Amazon DocumentDB and Amazon Redshift clusters. You can schedule AWS snapshots and manage the snapshot life cycle according to your Recovery Point Objective (RPO) or Recovery Time Objective (RTO) criteria for cloud databases. You can restore a DocumentDB cluster or a Redshift cluster to a selected target availability zone.
Back up and Restore Amazon RDS in Commvault Command Center
You can use Commvault software to protect Amazon RDS instances. Commvault integrates with AWS native snapshots to protect Amazon RDS instances. You can schedule AWS snapshots and manage the snapshot life cycle according to your Recovery Point Objective (RPO) or Recovery Time Objective (RTO) criteria for cloud databases. You can restore an Amazon RDS instance to a selected target availability zone.

Exclude SQL Databases from Backups Using a Naming Pattern
You can exclude existing and new SQL databases from backups based on the database naming pattern. When you create new SQL databases with the specified naming pattern, the databases are automatically excluded from the backups.
To exclude the database, configure a subclient filter with the database naming pattern. For example, you can configure a filter to exclude databases with a name that contains the string "test".

Enhanced Command Center Customization and Branding
New features are added to the existing customization and branding capabilities of the Command Center. For example, you can now add a custom background image and warning login banner on the login screen.
Additional customization and branding features for the Command Center are as follows:

You can customize the color of the navigation breadcrumbs, icons, navigation text, and links.
Automatically Discover Applications That Require Backup Operations
Use the Auto discover applications option in the Command Center to find third-party applications on servers and to install Commvault software that backs up the applications. You can automatically discover third-party applications on all servers in a server group or all servers in a company.

You can perform granular email recovery for Exchange server 2019 through live browse.
Simplified Storage Policy Copy Creation Using a Wizard
You can use the storage policy copy creation wizard, which takes you through the copy creation process, prompting only for values that are essential for copy creation.
Back Up and Restore Data in Alibaba Cloud Object Storage Service and IBM Cloud Object Storage Using the Command Center
Using Object Storage in the Command Center, you can back up object data in Alibaba Cloud Object Storage Service and in IBM Cloud Object Storage.
You can restore data from an object storage repository to its original location, to any other object storage repository, or to disk.

Manage Workflow Credentials in the Credentials Manager
Use the GetCredentials control flow activity to manage the credentials used in a workflow. The GetCredentials activity obtains the credentials from the Commvault Credentials Manager. If the credentials change, simply update the credentials in the Credentials Manager instead of in individual workflow activities.
Use Data Protection Resources from an Amazon Admin Account
You can configure a virtualization client (hypervisor) for Amazon Web Services (AWS) to use a separate Admin account for data protection operations.
This approach provides the following benefits:
Reduces the impact of backup operations and restore operations on tenant production accounts.
Minimizes the configuration required for tenant accounts.
Eliminates the need for tenants to deploy proxies (access nodes) and MediaAgents in Amazon, reducing tenant costs.
Hides backup infrastructure from tenants.
By using this feature, tenants in a managed services environment can access resources that are provided by a managed service provider (MSP) to support data protection operations. Similarly, groups within an organization can access shared resources from an AWS Admin account that provides infrastructure for data protection.
You can configure access to an Admin account in the CommCell Console or in the Command Center. Production accounts can use an Admin account for streaming backup operations, IntelliSnap backup operations, backup copy operations, and restore operations.
Operations can use Windows proxies and Linux proxies, and can include Windows instances and Linux instances.

Commvault Plug-In for VMware vSphere Client (HTML5 Version)
The Commvault plug-in provides recovery of virtual machines and files from within the VMware vSphere Client (HTML5 version). vSphere users can manage and restore virtual machines or files using the Commvault Command Center inside the vSphere Client.
You can use the Commvault plug-in with vSphere 6.5.x or vSphere 6.7.x, when the vCenter is running on a Windows or Linux machine.

Define a Recovery Target That End Users Can Select for Out-of-Place Restores of VMware VMs
In the Command Center, an admin user can define a recovery target for VMware VMs.
When the recovery target is associated with a user or user group that has limited access to the VMware or Commvault infrastructure, the end user can select the recovery target when restoring a full VM out of place.

You can deploy an AWS Linux instance that uses a 64-bit Arm processor, and then install any of the following packages:

When you install the Virtual Server Agent on an AWS Linux instance that uses a 64-bit Arm processor, install Mono on the instance to enable it to be used as a Linux proxy.
Convert Virtual Machines to Alibaba Cloud ECS
When restoring a virtual machine from a backup for VMware, you can convert the VM to Alibaba Cloud ECS.
This feature can be used to migrate workloads to Alibaba Cloud ECS, and is available in the Command Center.

For Google Cloud Platform, Use a Single Virtualization Client to Back Up Instances from Multiple Projects
For Google Cloud Platform (GCP), you can create one virtualization client for all of your GCP projects. You can back up and restore instances from multiple projects in any region or zone.

Use a Restricted IAM Role for AWS
To restrict access to AWS resources for Commvault operations, you can create a policy that restricts access to resources that are created and used by Commvault.
You can associate the policy with an Amazon hypervisor (Commvault virtualization client) using one of the following methods:
Create an IAM role that uses the policy, and attach the role to an Amazon instance that is configured as a VSA proxy for the hypervisor. With this method, choose the IAM Role option for authentication when you configure the hypervisor in Commvault, and specify access nodes (VSA proxies) that have the IAM role attached.
Attach the restricted policy to users or user groups. With this method, choose the Access and Secret Key option for authentication when you configure the hypervisor in Commvault, and then enter the access key and secret key associated with a user who has the restricted policy attached.
You can use this restricted role for operations performed from the Command Center or from the CommCell Console.
You can perform the following operations using a role with restricted access:
All supported restore operations from streaming backups
All supported restore operations from IntelliSnap backups
Operations that are performed by a tenant user in a managed services environment, using resources that are configured in a separate Admin account
Cross-hypervisor restores (VM conversion) and Live Sync replication from VMware to AWS
Live Sync replication from AWS to AWS
