Work with Report Data

In the interactive view or the analytics view of a report, you can use report controls to change the data that you see.

Action

Search for data.

In the search box, type the search term, and then click Search. The results are files and folders that match the search term.

The following are examples of common searches:

  • To search for files in a specific folder, enter the folder name enclosed in double quotes (") and add an escape character for the backslash (\).

    For example, to view the files in C:\SortedBackup\Images, type "C:\\SortedBackup\\Images".

  • To search for files with a specific file extension, enter *.file_extension.

    For example, to view files with a .txt extension, type *.txt.

  • To only search for files instead of files and folders, type *file_name*.*. For example, to view files that contain the word "sales" in the file name, type *sales*.*.

View detailed data information for data in a specific range.

Point to a bar on the graph.

Modify the data ranges (y-axis).

  1. Click the Customize Categories button to do any of the following actions:
    • Type or select new values of a range to display in the graph.
    • Remove a range by clicking the minus button.
    • Add a range by clicking the plus button, up to a maximum of 6.
  2. Click Apply to save your changes and update the graph.

View a detailed list of data included in the current view.

Click the Listing View button to view the following:

  • The full path of each file
  • The date when each file was last modified
  • The size of each file

    Information in the listing view can be sorted by clicking on the column titles.

Approximate savings of archiving items in the current data view.

In the Cost in $ box below the data view, enter your storage costs (in dollars per GB).

The Save Approx value updates to reflect the amount you could save by moving data in the current data view to archival storage.
