Getting Started with Network Share
Review each of the topics to get started with Network Share.
Step 1: Obtain Your User Credentials to Access the Command Center
Obtain the following information from your administrator:
- The Command Center URL
- Your Command Center user credentials
If the Command Center is not set up in your CommCell environment, contact your administrator to deploy the Command Center. For more information, see Quick Start Guide.
Step 2: Log On to the Command Center
Accessing the Command Center by using the URL and user account credentials that you obtained from the administrator.
Step 3: (Optional) Add a Storage Array
If you want to use IntelliSnap, add a storage array. See Adding a Storage Array to the CommServe Database.
When you add a storage array, a deconfigured NAS server is automatically added in File Servers.
Step 4: Add a Network Share to the File Server
Do one of the following:
- If you add an array, then reconfigure the NAS server, and add a network share to this server, see Adding a Network Share for IntelliSnap Backups.
- For network share backup without IntelliSnap, add a file server with the option that you want. See Adding a Network Share to Back Up.
Step 5: Create a User-Defined Subclient and Associate a Server Backup Plan with the Subclient
To create a user-defined subclient and associate a server backup plan to the subclient, see Creating a User-Defined Subclient for Network Share.
Step 6: Perform Your First Backup and Restore
To confirm that your system is set up correctly, perform an on-demand backup, and then perform a restore.
