Manually Selecting a Job to Copy

You can manually select jobs to be copied to selective copies during an Auxiliary Copy operations. When you manually pick a job to copy to a selective copy, you cannot unpick the job later to pick another valid job.

Procedure

  1. Disable the automatic-time based selection criteria for a selective copy.
    1. From the CommCell Browser, expand Policies > Storage Policies.
    2. Right-click the appropriate selective copy, and click Properties.
    3. In the Copy Properties dialog box, on the Selective Copy tab, click Do not Automatically select jobs, and then click OK.
  2. Manually mark the job to copy during an auxiliary copy job.
    1. From the CommCell Browser, expand Policies > Storage Policies.
    2. Right-click the appropriate selective copy, click View > Jobs.
    3. In the Job Filter for Storage Policy dialog box, clear the Specify Time Range check box, click Advanced.
    4. In the Jobs in Storage Policy Advanced Filter Options dialog box, select the Jobs that will not be copied check box.
    5. Click OK and then click OK to close the Job Filter for Storage Policy dialog box.

      The list of jobs that are not copied to the storage policy copy are displayed with the Status as Not Selected in the Job for Storage Policy pane.

    6. Right-click the job that you want to copy to the storage policy copy, and then click Pick for Copy.
    7. In the Allow Copy dialog box, click Yes.

      When the job is selected, the job is displayed with a status of To be Copied. The job will now be copied to storage policy copy during the next Auxiliary Copy operation.

      Repeat above steps to selected other jobs.

  3. Run an Auxiliary Copy job.
